A fully electric aircraft?

13 Oct A fully electric aircraft?

Electric cars represent one of the most significant innovations of the 21st century. With this success, it seems only natural that companies start studying ways to produce electric aircafts also.
The Wright Electric company would like to take up this challenge.
The Wright brothers were the first to try out motor aricrafts. This was 114 years ago…
Today, this company wants to develop fully electric aircrafts within 20 years. They will try to achieve short distances at first (Paris – London for example) and a capacity of 150 people.
Besides the zero emission fact, these aircrafts should be less noisy and cheaper.
The batteries (currently too heavy) will be positioned inside the wings and the system should be a hybrid propulsion one.
Easyjet announced to partner with Wright Electric and foreseen the first flight to be in 10 years’ time.
