Flexpai : The First foldable smartphone

22 Jan Flexpai : The First foldable smartphone

A little-known chinese startup based in US, called Royole, is launching what it claims is the world’s first folding smartphone.

This was somewhat of a surprise launch, as Samsung and Huawei were expected to be first to launch it.

This new smartphone called Flexpai has the size of an iPad Mini when opened. When closed, the device has three separate display areas, on the front, back and spine, each serving a different purpose.

According to Royole, the screen can support 200,000 folding operations.

Regarding RAM, the Flexipai comes in two versions with 6 or 8 GB respectively associated with 128 or 512 GB for storage.

The price of the basic model is about 1.250 euros.

The smartphone is already available in China; its date of commercialization and its official rates for the rest of the world are not yet known.
